About Us

The Omar Faruque Mosque and Cultural Centre is a not for profit organisation run by a group of trustees and a management committee. The organisation is a UK registered charity, No.1117040. It has an established and approved constitution and aims to look after the needs of the Muslim Community in the north of Cambridge. 

The Mosque (Masjid) which is in the Arbury area of Cambridge city is a place of worship for Muslims. Mosques serve as places where Muslims come together for Salah (Prayer) and learn more about Islam. The Mosque is close to Cambridge Science Park and Cambridge Regional College.‎

The congregation is wonderfully diverse comprising of people from many different backgrounds and nationalities, local residents and students. 

The Imam of the Mosque is Mawlānā Mohammed Abdul Gani, MM (Momtazul Muhaddisin), MF (Momtazul Fuqaha), MA National University of Bangladesh.

His spiritual knowledge comes from Shaykh Allamah Abdul Latif Chowdhury Saheb Qiblah Fultali (Rahmatullahi Alaihi) of the noble Jaunpuri Silsilāh (spiritual chain) of Tariqāh-e Naqshbandiyah wa Mujaddidiyah wa Muhammadiyah.
